Limits
  • Job runs: 1,000 runs a dayMessages per day
  • 1,000 messages a day, 1 MB maximum message size, 50 GB bandwidth.
  • The daily limit is soft. Short spikes are allowed, but if you keep going over, the API may start returning 429 errors.
  • Logs are kept for 3 days and failed messages for 3 days. Up to 10 active schedules.
  • Each delivery attempt counts as a message, so a retry counts as another one.

Usage pricing
  • Job runs: $1 per 100K runs
  • $1 per 100,000 messages with no daily cap and no monthly minimum.
  • Each delivery attempt counts as a message, so every retry adds to the bill. Upstash's machine-readable pricing file says retries are free, but its pricing page FAQ says they count. This estimate counts one message per job.
  • 50 GB of bandwidth a month is included, then $0.05 per GB. Bandwidth is not in this estimate.
  • Active schedules are free up to 1,000, then $0.01 each.
  • The Prod Pack add-on (uptime SLA, encryption at rest, SOC-2, Prometheus and Datadog) costs $200 a month extra.

  • $180 a month flat for up to 1 million messages a day and 1 TB of bandwidth.
  • Only worth it for steady, high volume. Pay as you go is cheaper until you send roughly 18 million messages a month.
  • The daily limit is soft. Going over repeatedly may lead to an upgrade request, then 429 errors.
