Limits
  • Bandwidth: 5 GB a monthHobby workspace allowance, shared by all your services
  • Render says not to use Free instances for production apps. They are for testing and hobby projects.
  • 750 free instance hours per workspace each month. If they run out, Render suspends your Free web services until next month.
  • The filesystem is wiped on every redeploy, restart and spin-down. Free web services cannot use persistent disks.
  • Free Postgres databases expire 30 days after creation and are deleted after a 14 day grace period.
  • If you have not added a payment method, running past the bandwidth allowance suspends your Free services. With a card on file Render bills the extra.
  • We found no commercial-use ban on the pages we checked, but Render advises against production use.

  • Sized by you: the builder prices the cheapest plan with at least the server size set in "How usage is estimated" (1 GB by default). Render handles servers, TLS certificates and updates.
  • Compute is billed per service on top of your workspace plan. The Hobby workspace is $0 a month and includes 5 GB of bandwidth, 1 user and up to 25 services.
  • The Pro workspace is $25 a month plus compute. It adds unlimited team members and 25 GB of bandwidth. It is not included in this price.
  • Billing is prorated to the second.
